Give Thanks, Be Grateful to Our Lands and People

During Thanksgiving, we have always heard about the history of the Pilgrims who went to the United States to escape religious persecution in England. It is never easy to immigrate and adapt to changes. Fortunately, the compassionate Indians and Squanto, the Pilgrims learned to survive in the land of America by growing corn. They then became companions and shared the harvest. The story ends in a heartwarming way, but the truth is on the flip side.

Living in the land of the United States, it is because there were people who obtained the land, stole the land from the Natives, and started to develop this country. We should admit what has happened in history and remember the sufferings that the Natives have gone through. When we celebrate the harvest with what nature gives us, we should also be grateful for what we have owned today.

Thanksgiving is a day for us to commemorate what has happened in history. "Rome was not built in a day." The same rule applies to all cities in the world. People hewed trees and built cities in the last century, and the conflict between humans and nature started after that. Urban development comes with pollution, overcrowding, and many other economic problems. The cost of pulling down a building is not the same as pulling down a tree. Demolishing a building means creating waste and bringing extra loads to our earth. In the era of inflation and shortage in the supply chain, we should consider better utilization of existing infrastructure and protect the land.

What Thanksgiving tells us also connects with Veery's brand story and matches our company goals. To reduce waste, people can rent for the time and space they need and do not need to pay for unnecessary consumption. That is one of the reasons why I built Veery. With my experience working in the commercial real estate industry, I have encountered countless fascinating offices in the town that were left empty. I aim to revive these spaces and open the window for people who need them. Numerous convenient locations in the city are available immediately. It is flexible, and you can always pick the most convenient location, so we can shorten the commute time and reduce the carbon released by cars.

In the festive seasons, we should be grateful for what we have. Reflect on what we can do more for the earth we live on, care about the people around us and treasure our loved ones! Happy Thanksgiving!
